I've watched a few episodes, its OK but I wouldn't put myself out to watch that over something else. You do get to see some interesting stuff though. There's another series you might be interested in called Auction Kings on Discovery, people bring their stuff to some auctioneers and then they research it and sell it in the auction at the end. There are some interesting items on that show to, from rare bits of history to mint condition classic cars and everything in between

Yeah its a pretty good show, Dave made a ton of money (off of vendor machines), made me jealous. Havn't seen the texas one, seemed hard for me too.

Yeah Darrell is always the sad one I think. Always loses out and stuff, he was suppose to be the gambler character as well. Him or the old man lost alot forgot now.

The cat is out of the bag on this one tbh, I did a quick search to see if it goes on in the UK and there a thousands of articles all around the internet. It will be increasingly difficult to profit from doing this unless you know the trade inside out, the same happened with antiques and collectors items in the UK a number of years back.

There where some TV shows like Bargain Hunt where people competed over buying and selling antiques. People realised that there was the potential to make a lot of money, the secret was out though and competition sky rocketed. Most people that try it out end up losing money instead, its hard to match the experience of people who where doing it for years before it became famous.

When you make big investments it doesn't take many mistakes before your outta cash. Did that violin in the bay full of car parts actually turn out to be a Stradivarius? I missed the rest of that episode.

I kind of root for the couple that own the little shop. And at times am glad to see Dave put in his cocky, know-it-all place.

three of the people in the show, own stores so the small items they sell in them. Smart way to do it. If you get big find great, but even if its a small find you can sell those items in your store and make some money.

Barry is the collector, and throws out the small items, since they are rubish for him. Then he is sometimes unlucky in finding collector items as well. Be tough.

Great, I don't watch much TV anyway. I use to have a massive addiction for dragons den, the UK version and also shows like Gordon Ramsays etc. If you never watched that I would recommend it

As for getting involved in something like this - too much risk. One has to wonder how much filming goes into finding a "rewarding" locker and how much money is spent to get there. I imagine there are a lot more losses then the show would suggest.

You can buy storage units for 50 bucks in smaller cities. The owners are just looking to have someone pay them to clean them to clean them out, rather than paying someone else to do the work. Most of the time they don't give a damn what is in them. You bring a truck, and find somewhere you can (legally) dump the garbage that you don't want.

Most storage units can be sorted and cleaned out by two people in a couple hours.

sis you guys watch the round table episodes. Dave commented on his earnings and I snorted. Bary's annual from his sales are in the millions. He only sells the extremely high end goods.... That's why he only walks out with the one or two things he finds worth while.

Barry and his brother ran a wholesale produce business grossing 10-15M in sales for almost 30 years, so he certainly has the money to spare.
